A 5/12/23 MEAWW Media Entertainment Article summarizing the fifth and final episode of “Waco:   The Aftermath,”  The Showtime dramatic sequel to the 2018 Paramount “Waco” series.   The article mentions Gary Noesner’s portrayal in the episode.

May 12, 2023.

SPECIAL COMMENT: For those who watched this five part Showtime series, I wish to make note of a few important points.   First, while the lead actor, Michael Shannon, again played me again in this sequel, I was not actually involved in most of the events shown.  I did not conduct an investigation of the anti-government movement, nor operate an informant against Elohim City as depicted.   I and many other agents were deeply concerned about the growth of the anti-government movement after Waco, but I did not actively investigate these groups.   In addition, I did not testify in the trial of the Waco survivors.    However, words voiced by Michael Shannon on the witness stand are an accurate account of my prior statements, including my criticism of the counter productive FBI tactical team actions at Waco that undercut the negotiation team’s efforts.   While David Koresh was ultimately responsible for the final outcome, I believe that without such counterproductive tactical action many more lives could have been saved.   Finally, I did not speak at the two year Waco Memorial Service at Mt. Carmel as depicted, although the speech given by Michael Shannon is also consistent with my prior public statements.   Showtime’s “Waco:  The Aftermath,” is an entertaining fictionalized drama of real events that was produced and directed by the talented Dowdle brothers.   Those wishing to learn more about the actual Waco incident may also want to view the recent three part Netlfix documentary “Waco:   American Apocalypse.”

April 14, 2023.

“Waco: The Aftermath.” (Showtime. The Paramount Network just announced this 5 part sequel to the highly successful 2018 Waco dramatic series (link below). The sequel covers events following the actual Waco incident and will air on April 14 – 16 on Showtime. Academy Award nominated actor Michael Shannon again plays me, but primarily in a fictional context this season. This series is unrelated to the Netflix documentary. It is important to note that the Netflix show is a documentary and the Showtime program is a dramatic series. I consulted on both shows.
